CASTROL HONILO 171

Castrol Honilo 171 is a neat, sulphurised and chlorinated metalworking fluid.

APPLICATION

Castrol Honilo 171 is used mainly for honing and automatic lathe work, especially where the latter is of a precision character. Castrol Honilo 171 can also be usefully employed on many boring and drilling operations on aluminium, phosphor bronzes and nickel alloys. When employed in honing operations, Castrol Honilo 171 may be passed through a thermostatically controlled oil cooler unit whilst in circulation on the machine tool. In combination with clarifying treatment, this measure makes it possible to hold the finished size of the honed component to closer limits. In deep hole boring operations, some of the specialist machine tools used require high pressure delivery of the cutting fluid within a totally enclosed, pressure head. Castrol Honilo 171 is entirely suitable for delivery in this way, giving extra flushing action to clear swarf more rapidly from the cutters.
